There’s only one thing Polizei Founder Alex Roy & Team Kapitan Rene Villeuneuve heart more than Love 146, Guardian Angel Motorsports and TRG…and that’s racing itself. We’ve gone cross-country, around the world and into Grand-Am, but this week we’re going to take our first step into something even I never thought we would. We’re going to take our first peek into NASCAR. No, Polizei isn’t entering NASCAR, but…
But Polizei friend and ally Andy Lally is. Under TRG’s NASCAR program, Lally - someone Rene and I have long discussed as a potentially fantastic Polizei pilot (if only he could be convinced to wear the uniform) - well, Andy Lally is taking TRG’s NASCAR car around Watkins, which means…
Which means that Rene and I - sports car fans who, shall we say…have never really eaten from the NASCAR buffet - will be deploying Polizei’s traditional(!) coverage to an arena of motorsports unfamiliar with our approach, let alone commentary.
I’ve always wanted to know how NASCAR could possibly grab a sports car/GT driver’s attention, so that’s where Rene & I are going to go, with Lally as our man. Whether Lally can convince us, live - through video, audio and/or any other method we can get functional - in/on a car that is…er…not quite the same as 144P…
We’re going to find out. Don’t go looking for Polizei’s Mobile HQ booth on Sunday’s race day, because we’ll be deploying all assets to follow Lally throughout, so if you want to follow us, you’ll be able to do so online…starting tomorrow, with a lot more info and some even newer surprises. Topic 1? Rene & I debate NASCAR. Topic 2? Lally’s co-pilot. Topic 3? Why do this at all?

…and, alas, bandwidth issues on-site made live streaming impossible for our scheduled coverage of Le Mans (via Polizei’s Mystery Racing Theater) AND The 12 Hours Of GPNY itself. We apologize, but this is what happens when events are planned on short notice, which comes down to my decision to enter the event only a few days ago. We know - as do all fans of Team Polizei - that there is no substitute for advance planning, testing and redundancy. This anomaly is both a first and a last for us, I can assure you, and we look forward to resuming our normal broadcast schedule of race coverage in a couple of weeks, when Team Polizei deploys at Laguna Seca yet again.

Great trilogies are rare, very rare. I can only think 2 trilogies where each subsequent chapter was as good as the first and left fans clamoring for more-Star Wars (episodes IV-VI), and the Lord of the Rings. Too often the 3rd installment of a series falls flat and angry fans deny it even existed, as was the case with T3 and the Godfather 3. But anyone who has seen the previews for Forza 3 knows that we are about to dawn on the age of another great trilogy.
Forza 2 helped us focus and prepare for many epic drives, but the new features in Forza 3 may acutally make us better drivers. The screenshots look disturbingly realistic, and “improved physics and tire flex modeling” has me salivating like a Pavlovian puppy. I have no idea what tire flex modeling is, but it sounds amazing and will probably lead many novice drivers to become very familiar with tire barricades and gravel pits. The October 2009 release date sounds really far away, but Team Polizei is already forming a crack team of operatives who will try to get an advanced testing round of game play. If this game even comes close to the claims, we can all look forward many sleepless nights and empty cans of Red Bull this winter.
Much like the feminine subject of the U2 song, manly beasts Josh Vietze (left) and J.F. Musial move in mysterious ways. Here they’re in the TRG paddock prepping 144P for the live-camera streaming broadcast during Henri Richard and René Villeneuve’s first test session at Laguna this morning. We’d tell you how they did it, but even we’re not quite sure what secret voodoo they employed. We’re just glad their impossible-to-contain wizardry is on our side of the law.
Yes that’s right. We’re broadcasting live from the cockpit of our baby, the 144P.

After a successful weekend of Forza 2 and kart racing, Team Polizei144’s unveiling of the new Konfigurator for fully customized apparel was in full effect as evidenced by our team this weekend.
Polizei144’s newest member, Dave Seward, defeats Roy in his role as Forza 2 champion. He’ll be part of our crew on Sunday, and he earned himself a special series of skill patches when he receives his jacket.
Villeneuve, Moses, and Roy. New jackets, same attitude. Villeneuve is proud of his special Can-Am patch, Moses supports Papua New Guinea.
Best Buy, Santana Row, San Jose. The crowd was in full effect, but there can only be one winner. Nice job, Seward.
