It’s the most disliked Road Testament evahhhhhh, with JF and I reviewing our bottom 5 cars of the first half of 2010. It’s a 2-1 ratio Dislike-to-Like.
Graphic, controversial and not quite what anyone was expecting, here’s a little video of our road trip to Montreal for F1 last week. Jason Thorgalsen and Josh Vietze join JF and I for this episode of The Road Testament.
Yet another controversial Road Testament, and this time JF and I discuss what’s up with Mercedes…then (as in the then of the Gullwing & 6.9) vs. now (as in…everything they make now.) So…does Mercedes still make any Mercedes?
After days of practice, and an amazing starting position, only Mother Nature could stop Andy Lally’s assault on the Glen…and that’s exactly what she did. Rain and wet track conditions forced today’s NASCAR race to be postponed until Monday at noon. So we will have to wait one more day to find out who shall be victorious. The storms have cut off Herr Roy’s wireless access, but he is still at the track trying to keep dry while searching for the TRG hospitality tent. But do not fear, he is promoting the true Polizei spirit of friendship by sampling many free food plates from other teams’ hospitality tents. Bon Appetit! Check back later for more updates…
Upstate NY morning scenery as seen through the rearview of 144A.
This morning has been filled with uncertainty and unexpected events. Overnight storms and wet weather has been threatening today’s NASCAR race, and many of us are having flashbacks to The Bog. As Kommandant Roy was navigating up River 17…sorry, I mean Route 17 to Watkins Glen, he was flagged off the road by our friends in blue. All of us at Polizei HQ East and West checked under our matresses for bail money when we awoke to this text message from Roy, ‘This cop is curious and not a NASCAR fan.’ Leave it to Roy to find the only Trooper in NY who is NOT a NASCAR fan only miles from the track on raceday!
To our relief Roy is back on the road and ready to rendezvous with Andy Lally and the rest of team TRG at Watkins Glen. The track is drying out and order seems to be restored to the kingdom. Our live race webcast featuring Master Pilot Rene Villeneuve, and the most feared man in Forza 2, John Morley, will be broadcasting soon…
…the highest number of driver changes/pit stops…that is, well, its complicated, but our preliminary 12 Hours of GPNY Race Report goes something like this, at least until we’ve all gotten some sleep and someone at GPNY calls us back. As of right now, they’re sleeping too. Here’s who we deployed:
Polizei Squad #1 – our PRO squad led by Team Captain Rene Villeneuve (Skip Barber) – consisted of Jameson & Andrew Riley (Riley Racing), GPNY trackmeister Tom Morningstar (Garage 419), and Zach Skolnick, yes, the Zach Skolnick.
Polizei Squad #2 – our AM squad led by Roger Garbow (Farnbacher-Loles) and race controller J.F. Musial (Garage 419) – consisted of myself, good friend Nick Steinman (New York Motor Club), Jordan Vega & Josh Vietze (Team Polizei), Jared Silver (InnamorAuto) and our old friend Michael Lindgren, whose epic status in the auto & racing sectors could fill a book in itself.
…and, alas, bandwidth issues on-site made live streaming impossible for our scheduled coverage of Le Mans (via Polizei’s Mystery Racing Theater) ANDThe 12 Hours Of GPNY itself. We apologize, but this is what happens when events are planned on short notice, which comes down to my decision to enter the event only a few days ago. We know – as do all fans of Team Polizei – that there is no substitute for advance planning, testing and redundancy. This anomaly is both a first and a last for us, I can assure you, and we look forward to resuming our normal broadcast schedule of race coverage in a couple of weeks, when Team Polizei deploys at Laguna Seca yet again.
